Aug 22, 2017 - Does your armor need some updating in Skyrim for Xbox One? This mod will add a set of armor that looks just like Darth Vader's getup in Star. Darth Vader is a classic costume and is great for Halloween or your favorite local geek convention. I'm not going to cover a lot of techniques (such as sewing, pepakura, or foam crafting), but rather what I needed for the pieces, and how to template some of them. I'll also cover different levels.
500th playthrough this time in PSVR! Got a pretty good Palpatine going. Even managed to get vampire grip in human form (which is seriously the best thing ever in VR.) The only thing missing is my special little chosen one to fuck shit up by my side. Trying to narrow down the right follower to turn into my own personal Vader is a challenge. Looking for some opinions: Would prefer a tall dark handsome follower of few words and poor morals. Plan to use all ebony armor for them and give them a big fire enchanted sword. Give them a ring that boosts health and one armed (restoration loop)-So level cap isn't really that important. Mostly who would fit my role play the best? Any input or experience would be highly appreciated. Thanks.
EDIT/UPDATE Went through a couple candidates before I found my perfect sith apprentice. My first choice after a bunch of research was Benor. He's a giant warrior who lives in Morthal. I tricked him out with all of the best exploited ebony gear. Gave him a big ass ebony sword with fire damage and thought that I had at last found my Vader. He fit almost every requirement that I had set out for. He was large. Focused on melee. No qualms about crime or murder. Deep voice and on the quiet side. Everything was going good until I realized that almost all followers default to a bow for distant targets. This completely broke my Vader apprentice role play that I had built. Can you imagine if in the original trilogy Vader pulled out a dinky wooden bow, stood behind a rock, and shot friggin toothpicks at his foes? Lame. Sorta broke the whole set up. Since default weapons and armor cannot truly be removed on PSVR version. I decided to trick him out with the best crossbow that exploits could buy. Well, soon realized I couldn't make it too good because then Benor would just pwn every dragon in the game before it got anywhere near the ground. So that had to be managed. I convinced myself that Vader may be inclined to pick up a blaster if the need ever arose. I named his blaster 'so uncivilized' and had it do about 120 dmg. This went on for a while but eventually I decided to try a new apprentice, A much younger and more talented dark side user. I sought out my old boy Onmund from the college of Winterhold. It wasn't hard to find him as my main Palpatine character had already completed the college quest-line and taken up residence at the arch mages quarters. (Truly the most fitting residence for my Palpatine build if you ask me.) Onmund is not very Vader like at all. After I convinced him to pledge himself to me, I let him try on Benors old Vader armor. He looked like a little Child. Embarrassing. I decided to go a new direction with this apprentice. If I couldn't have my perfect VADER perhaps I could create an even better sith follower. I gave Onmund a black robe and the Nightingale hood. Left his ebony gauntlets and boots. Gave him a ring of a million magic. Before I knew it I had actually created a pretty plausible KYLO REN. I gave him a dragon bone one handed sword. I found that the dragon bone sword with a fire enchantment looks exactly like Kylos sabre. Onmund uses shock destruction spells. Which we have yet to see Kylo do in cannon. I bent the rules to say that he could do sith lightning, we just haven't seen it yet on screen. Other than that he was a perfect little sith buddy. I know having the Emperor and kylo side by side completely crushes all of the lore that I was going for, but I convinced myself it was the best I could get. Onmund fills the Kylo Ren role pretty well. He's kind of a little whiney bitch about his family. A couple of times I picked him up with vampire grip in human form and threw him off of whatever Mountain we were on- just cause I got sick of looking at him. He survived most falls and would walk back over to me like the little bitch he is and ask what our next task would be. This just didn't fit my character though. I still wanted to create my perfect vader follower. I told Onmund it's not you, it's me. Idk- he just didn't complete me. I poured through the wikis and finally landed on the perfect apprentice. I present to you my perfect Vader follower Candidate: Valdimar! He is a Nord sorcerer from Hjaalmarch. He got added in the hearth fire dlc. He becomes your follower after you become thane of the area. He's fairly unique as far as followers go. He meets all requirements that I had, plus he has a bitching mustache. I wish he had a more James Earl Jones type voice, but I will manage. He's super huge too. Now that I can adjust my character to be a little shorter he really towers above everyone we meet. He excels in one handed and uses wards with the other. I gave him a necklace that gives him unlimited magic. Since he never runs out he will always use destruction before he pulls out a bow. He spams ice spear a lot. Which isn't very Vader like. But Vader does use the force to hurl chunks of his environment at fools. Since most of Skyrim is snow covered, I just justify it by saying he is projecting ice chunks from the ground. It also looks like a force blast. He uses ebony flesh on himself a lot. I gave him +100% magic resistance so accidentally zapping him with force lightnings or force push shouts do not effect him. His armor rating is through the roof as all of his ebony armor is tempered well beyond legendary. His stamina is unlimited. His carry limit is like a million. I took someone's advice and gave him the dawnbreaker. It's a cool glowy-glowy red sword. It also does burn damage. I tempered it up to like 150 dmg. I don't want him one shot-ing everything, But I do want him to be able to fuck up some bandits. His health is so high that you'd really have to struggle to kill him if he turns on you. I think it's cool that his name happens to be Valdimar which is practically an anagram for Lord Vader. Sometimes when I go to make him do something he says 'what?!' Like an asshole. I suppose prequel Anakin was kind of a brat- So it still fits the lore. We tend to have a love-hate relationship. Since he is my housecarl he acknowledges my authority over him when he addresses me. Which is the exact interaction Vader and Palpatine would have. I love that he stands silently in doorways like the Mountain from game of thrones when I'm doing business with the local brass. Its a true joy to command him to attack peons while I creep around as Palpatine and do my best evil cackle. I love grabbing and force choking rebels while he comes up and ganks them in the face. His finishing move animations happen a lot because of his level. I point him in the right direction and he all but clears out enemy camps for me. We are obviously on the empires side of the civil war. Dual wielding Sparks and slow shocking a target to death while he stands by ready to strike is the exact build I was setting out for.
One thing I learned is not all enchantments work on followers. There's a list that do in the wikis. I learned all followers seem to have bows that you can't remove. I learned they can be about as stealthy as you are most of the time. This always makes me laugh as an 8 foot man in all ebony armor sort of shuffles around through people's houses and they don't notice. I know being subtle and ninja is not Vader's approach. Valdimar gets lost a lot. I think this is fairly common for the AI in this game. I made him pick up a side quest fetch item and just hold onto it so I can track his dumb ass when he gets lost. PALPATINE would be able to sense where he was anyways. So this fits the lore. I might switch his chest peice to something more Vader like. I tried the nightingale armor because it's the only peice that has a cape. Didn't look right though. It's too spandexy and not dark enough. Maybe the dawnguard heavy armor in black would be more fitting. I wish I could combine the orc helmet with something to come up with a better Vader helmet approximation. If Vader did land in Skyrim o think he would look exactly as I have him now. Thanks for reading. I had fun with his build and may expand on it in a different subreddit.
Skyrim is packed with all sorts of different armors and items you can use on your character. However, with these mods on, you can expand your armory with all sorts of cool (and even weird) equipment. Here are the best Skyrim Special Edition armor mods on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
This mod adds a new set of equipment imported from MMO Black Desert Online. You’ll be able to craft the armor, boots, gauntlets, and helmet – and all will work for either male or female models.
With this mod, you’ll be able to craft Darth Vader equipment as well as a saber hilt, which you can enchant with a saber blade once you pick up a lightsaber mod.
This mod adds Ashara Princes of the Woods armor to Skyrim through 17 different armor pieces, 6 fur complements, and 8 wigs. Between those pieces and various color options, there’s 122 new items to try out.
With Nazgul Armor, you can dress as the villainous Lord of the Rings riders. This set is light armor with Dragonscale-level stats and works for male and female characters. One of the best armor mods you can get.
Now you can wield the mythical Skyforge to create stronger versions of Dragonplate armor (and Dragonbone weapons, if you’re into that too).
Incarnate Creatures adds craftable armor that, when equipped, turns you into a fantastic creature. Here’s the list of possibilities: Minotaur, Dwarvcenturions, Dwarvcommander, Dwarvdolls, Dwarvgynoids, Dwarvtrooper, Ebony Knight, Flame Lord, Knight of Order, Malaburo, Mara, Molag Bal, Molag Bal Rusty, Skeletons, Chicken Man, Ashlotte, Draugir, Drowner, Drowned Dead, Rotfiend, and Greater Rotfiend. Hands down one of the better mods out there.
The Aurorans are special Daedric creations that have appeared in past Elder Scrolls games. This mod places Auroran equipment pieces in dungeons throughout Skyrim, meaning you not only get to don their iconic gear, but also will have to work appropriately to acquire it.
It’s hard to feel like a badass mage in Skyrim, given you’ll be walking around in nothing but cloth. It may be time to take up the Ebony Archmage armor set and let Tamriel know who’s boss. Cons: the helmet does not always seem to work on Argonians and Khajiit. Pros: comes with a scythe.
Armored Robes is another great mod for mages, adding robes with armor ratings to your crafting options. It’s one of the best mods you can download.
Witcher 3 Viper Armor lets you run around in the Viper school garb of Geralt, the protagonist of last year’s hit RPG, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Note: the set is made for only male character models.
The Morag Tong is a powerful secret society, and as such, Morag Tong armor should pack a little more of a punch. This mod adds a set specially enchanted for assassins and with stats equivalent to Glass tier.
For those who enjoy the strength of Heavy Armor, but don’t enjoy covering their faces with giant metal blocks, there’s Heavy Armor Hood. This mod drops a Deadric-level hood near Windhelm with the stats of heavy armor, but the appearance of a cloth hood. Definitely one of the best mods worth getting.
With the Daedric Blue Light Armor mod, you can craft awesome Daedric gear that weighs half as much as the standard armor. Also, it glows blue!
This mod adds three Wolverine equipment sets, a Wolverine follower, Wolverine claws, a Wolverine chest — basically all the Wolverine you could need. One of the best X-Men mods out there for sure.
Another custom equipment set, Soul Eater armor is attained by slaying Crusix, soul eater and angel of death.
The Crom mod adds a number of craftable armors that turn your hero into a skeleton, either clothed or bare bones (hah). Basically, putting on this armor takes off your skin. One of the best freaky mods you can get your hands on.
The PS4 doesn’t get a lot of armor mod love because of Sony’s restrictions on the use of external assets. This mod looks to help by providing craftable Nocturnal Robes.
Conquer Skyrim as an icy Death Knight with this mod. Defeat the ominous Ashenrune at Arcwind Point to claim his armor and learn to summon a fittingly spectral horse.
Need even more Witcher 3? This mod adds the Feline armor set to Skyrim: Special Edition.
For the female Witchers out there, this Ciri armor mod will put you right on The Path.
Skyrim has room for sorceresses as well. This mod will grant you armor that decks you out as either Triss or Yennefer from The Witcher 3. Witcher fans definitely shouldn’t miss out on one of the best mods in the game.
Molag Bal, the Daedric Prince of domination, harvests souls and created Vampires. If you hope to be even half as hardcore as him, you’ll need this Knight of Molag Bal armor.
Corvo is the assassin protagonist of another Bethesda game, Dishonored. You can bring him right over to Skyrim with this mod.
You’re the Dovakiin, so you better look the part. This amazing mod grants you dragon wings that not only make you look cool, but also increase the following stats: health, magicka, stamina, and shout recovery rate. One of the best mods you should have on your list.
Another great option for spellcasters, this mage armor set is well hidden within the College questline, and offers great stats and starting enchantments at either light or heavy weight classes.
This mod adds a series of craftable fur hoods, so that your character has something more realistic to wear during the cold seasons of Skyrim. It’s also compatible with the famed Frostfall mod, offering maximum cold protection.
If you spend most of your time in Skyrim stabbing things, you might as well do it dressed as Ezio from Assassin’s Creed.
Be Scorpion from Mortal Kombat. If you want to tear your enemies apart and pull of fatalities, now you can do it with style with one of the best mods.
Turn any armor into either light or heavy equipment with this mod, ideal for anyone looking for more equipment freedom. Hands down one of the best mods you can get.
Become a Beast Slayer with this custom heavy armor set, craftable after completing a special quest picked up from books in Whiterun.
