Take part in an epic and ever-changing FINAL FANTASY as you adventure and explore with friends from around the world. The starter edition is perfect for newcomers as it includes the award-winning FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn experience and lets you begin your adventure as the Warrior of Light all the way through level 50. Join others from around the world and start your own FINAL FANTASY. Just to be sure it isn't an OS incompatibility, I installed windows 8.1 in a virtual machine, installed ACT, added firewall rule, updated DirectX, installed FFXIV, patched FFXIV, and ran ACT+FFXIV. I successfully saw combat data when attacking a training dummy.

Hi All,

I'm on Windows 10 currently on my laptop and I've been trying to get Final Fantasy XIV to work on there, but it gives me an error every time I try to launch it in their new DX11 version (they only offer DX9 and 11).

Ff14 Windows 10

Error says, 'The latest version of DirectX is required to play Final Fantasy XIV. Please download and install the DirectX End-User Runtime, then restart the game.'

I've tried running it as admin. I have not found a way to use DX11.2, I can't find a download or anything. I'm on DX12 since it's W10. Any assistance is greatly appreciated!

Ok, I'm not sure if this is where I should post this or not, but i'm gonna do a copy pasta of another post I've done. I'm also going to link that post with all responses and another.
At first I thought it was just FFXIV freezing my computer, so I went for IT help there.

I then went and downloaded other games to, well test a theory. Theory success and it's not just that game. so I went to CNET while falling asleep thinking it was Tom's Hardware (sorry I feel bad for that one, mis-clicked somewhere) Went through a bunch of troubleshooting stuff and still havn't found a fix as shown below.

For about a year now I have been dealing with my computer freezing at random times, but at this time it is only during playing games other than one time. The one time was after a fresh format and windows re-install and I was re-installing a game via a launcher. Other than the freezes being during gameplay there is no ryme nor reason. All times are random.
So far I have tried everything I have found online that would remotely resemble my issue and nothing as worked. From making sure that my power settings are correct, CPU running 100%, fan systems running 100%, temp monitoring, stress tests (never froze during any stress tests), and bios settings for c-whatever it was. As stated above I have also re-installed windows. I did a clean boot of one of the games it freezes on (making sure absolutely nothing else is running) and it still froze.
By freezing, I mean although my keyboard will light up when i press buttons as I have it programed to do, nothing is responsive, no mouse input, no keyboard input, tried ctrl, alt, dlt. tried windows key, ctrl, shift, b as well with no results. I have also tried playing those games at the lowest graphic settings possible.
I have replaced every piece of hardware on my computer, I now have a set of perfectly working hardware sitting in the corner minus cpu cooling system (I accidentally stepped on it and broke it)
all drivers are up to date. and as of the speccy linked below, I have now turned my firewall back on because, whoops, forgot to turn it back on after testing.

The only thing I can think of is it must be a setting or coding issue in windows 10 that I havn't found.
I don't have TV, and netflix gets old after a while, Please help I want to play my games! I already know this will be a long discussion and please don't take offense if I reply relatively quickly saying i've already tried something.
