Are there any tricks for killing these guys? Barring stuff like lowering game difficulty, cheating, etc..

Would you want the option to become a Ghoul, Super Mutant, Nightkin, etc.? Nightkin would be a bit of a mix of the SM and ghoul races, in that instead of a ferality meter, it would just be a regular sanity meter, with Stealth Boys, being sneaky in general, avoiding light and social contact all being factors. All ferals you find and kill. Prototype 2 dlc download.

I'm doing the Come Fly With Me quest, and am just entering the basemant to take out the Nightkin. I've not fought these guys before, and am having some trouble with them at level 7. I was planning to go with energy weapons, but have actually been mostly using guns up till now (with 10 skill ) simply because ammunition and repair for energy weapons hasn't been nearly as available. That said, I do have a laser pistol that is almost at 75% condition, and I'm also carrying a 10mm pistol in similar shape. My laser pistol generally seems pretty anemic vs everything (45 skill), but I'm having a particularly hard time killing the Nightkin with it. A full energy cell with 30 shots didn't quite kill a single Nightkin, and that's without seeing the red-shield icon indicating that his damage threshold was too high. Using a skill magazine (+20 due to perks) didn't really seem to make much difference either.
My 10mm pistol seems to take the Nightkin down a little quicker, but I still need many shots to kill one. So far I've only killed the first two guys in there, and don't know how many there are in total - probably more than I have 10mm rounds for, though.
Do these guys have high energy resistance? Too many hit points for my level and equipment? I'm wearing leather armor, and they do quite a lot of damage to me per hit. With the amount of time and ammunition it's taking me to kill them, and the cramped spaces I'm having to do it in, it almost seems like I should leave and come back at higher levels or with better equipment. My laser pistol is pretty disappointing so far
