I'm just wondering if anybody else feels this way I understand that the game is supposed to get more even and in the allies favor as time goes on but with the right opening the axis can dominate from the first turn. This is how it goes for us Germany starts destroys all uk navy takes Sweden to get the national objective and takes France to get their ipcs and possibly starts their push to Russia. Japan comes down and takes the first two of the four money islands Borneo and celebs. And takes a fair amount of Chinese territory too by the end of the first turn Germany is making over 40 without their national v adjectives and Japan is close to forty and by the next turn will have over 40 with national objective. I just don't see what the allies should do. with all of Britons navy destroyed Germany can pretty much park in or off the English channel and be ready v to start landing a small force on turn two and much more at turn 3 so now the big guy the us has a choice split 52 you start with on both sides or spend it all to go to Europe or the Pacific. if you split it that's 26 points each side could use that's not alot compared to what Germany v and Japan make or use it all on one side which either screws the other nations in the Pacific little Briton and Australia if you put all your money to the uk side or screws big Briton/Russia because Germany has no pressure from a major power. Opinions? Suggestions? Idk how to come back from that opening.
Battle Of The Bulge (2006) D-Day (2004) Revised (2004). The Allies and the Axis Two sets of countries fought World War II. The alliance of Nazi Germany, Italy, and Japan was known as the Axis. Several other countries were members of the Axis or cooperated with it at different times. The countries fighting them were called the Allies. I've just recently gotten Axis and allies 1940 Europe and I've played it a few times but every time I play the Allies win. Not only win, but devastate.
We always get to a point where Germany is on the decline and defensive. UK is starting to make a comeback and USSR is starting to fight back as well, while America is untouched and getting its absurd 65 IPCs.
Its like a teeter-totter with UK and USSR on one side and Germany and Italy on the other then USA is a giant sledgehammer to the Allied side. I don't see how the Axis can possibly win in the long term (4-10 turns into the game)
I guess my question is: Is the game supposed to be unfair or is there some Germany/ Italy strategy that I'm overlooking?
